Job Overview
We are looking for a Part-Time Assistant Production Baker to join our kitchen team! This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with their hands, has a strong work ethic, and is eager to grow their skills in a professional bakery setting. You’ll support our head baker in daily production, including prep, mixing, portioning, baking, and cleaning.
We are a small, collaborative team, and we’re looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced, high-quality kitchen.
You will be responsible for producing a variety of items, including cookies, brownies, muffins, scones, and other breakfast pastries.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily baking and prep, including mixing batters and doughs, portioning, and baking
- Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
- Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and follow all health and safety guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the baking area in compliance with food safety standards.
- Support restocking and inventory management as needed
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and customer demands.
Skills
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques, especially in baking and pastry arts.
- Ability to use kitchen tools effectively, including knives and other baking equipment.
- Experience in cake decorating techniques is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with food handling regulations to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs unassisted
Schedule: Early Morning / Daytime Shifts
- 2–4 shifts per week
- Weekend availability preferred
- Shop is closed Mondays and for most major holidays
Experience:
- Kitchen or Food Prep: 1 year (Preferred)
- Baking: 1 months (Preferred)
- ServSafe Certified (Preferred)
We are willing to train the right candidate with a strong interest in baking and production work.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18 – 30 per week
